One time at the gym...

I used to think that nothing good could come of a late night visit to the gym. Well I was wrong because I know have this GEM of a blog post for you all.

So here's what went down...

Everyone has their ideal TV station to watch while at the gym. Mine is TLC and it's on the farthest TV. So when I arrived at the gym Sunday evening, around 10:45..I immediately walked to the second furthest elliptical, as I always do if it's open, noticed that hoarders was on, thought to myself "oh hell yea" and proceeded to ready myself and the machine for a light 20 minute work out.

Once I got going it was about 10:50 and to the emotionally uplifting part of the episode where you see a huge turn around in the hoarders spirit as he and his family toast to a new life. I was lovin' iiiit. When I realized time was slipping away I began dreaming of what thrilling reality TV show would be up next. Could it be my personal fav, "Toddlers In Tiaras"? Or maybe, "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding"? I've been wanting to watch some "Craft Wars" and since I'm engaged and all, I would not hate "Say Yes to the Dress" or "Four Weddings" (on a scale of 1-10 how impressed are you by how many TLC shows I watch on the reg? -100000? grrreat.) ANYWAYS. To my dismay, it was none. of. the. above.

I was mortified when I realized that strange sex was coming up and there was not a darn thing I could do about it. And on an even MORE TERRIBLE note..it was about this freaky guy who got turned on by DRINKING HIS WIFES BREAST MILK. Are you kidding me!? I could not even make this stuff up. So there I am, on the eliptical, right in front of the giant TV with a dude drinking out of his wifes BOOB on it. I mean, what!? Why!? WHY ME!?

AND I STILL HAD TEN MINUTES LEFT OF MY WORKOUT.

Luckily I was just slightly close enough to the next TV to where if I dramatically turned my head enough I could totally show everyone that I was not into the nasty boob guy, and was all about "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." And since it was 11:00pm on a Sunday, the gym wasn't exactly hoppin' but still, there was enough activity going on for me to panic during the last ten minutes of my eliptical work out.

And there it is folks. Probably the begining of a long line of "One time at the gym..." blog posts because let me tell ya...it's surely not where you will find me at my finest. So until next time..............................

I don't know what goes after that so bye.

Summertime

It would seem that I've become a seasonal blogger. I'm not going to say, this time, that I am totally back in the blogging world because really, you just never know! I simply want to inform you of a delicious summer libation that I created in my kitchen only moments ago...

I call it, summertime.

The ingredients are in the picture, (white rum, diet lemon-lime soda, white wine, welch's passion fruit concentrate) and I'm not going to pretend like I measured anything because I certainly did not. But when you mix it together it's delicious.

I will say...don't forget that the Welch's passion fruit is a concentrate, so use scarcely or prepare to delude it with a looot of lemon-lime soda. (or wine? yes? no? whatev.)

Spruce it Up!
- - Add some frozen mango, pineapple or other tropical fruit!

Bottoms up! :)

I currently can't stop listening to Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye.

The original is great and the video is really neat. But if you loved that, you will surely enjoy this cover by Walk off the Earth. So cool. I'm pretty obsessed. I think at least 1,000 of the views are mine.

I hope you loved it.

Back in the Spring of Things!

Hello friends!

It's been a few months but I am back in the blogging world with a fresh look and a slightly more available schedule. Now, hopefully, I will be able to post more often, make more connections and just have some fun with this.

With Spring right around the corner (March 20, to be exact) I thought it would be fun to have my first post back be about this lovely up coming season. Besides the pools starting to open and the week long break from school here are a few things that I love about spring!

1. The colorful clothes. Check out the oh so stunning J Crew Spring line
(preview shown here at Oh, Joy!)
2. Easter, of course! I love this precious peep inspired easter bunting from made.
3. Yummy beverages. How about this lovely peach margarita from Sweet Life? My mouth waters just thinking about it.
4. Classy sunglasses. I would love to be able to splurge on these adorable Ray-Bans.
5. And of course, new nail polish colors! This one is called "Navigate Her." It's from the essie spring line which is reviewed by Fables in Fashion here.

I hope you enjoyed this little Spring teaser! Only 19 more days!

Bye, all :)

Inspiration Nation

Hello lovely friends!

I just wanted to share a small post about one of my favorite blogs, design*sponge. The creator of the blog is Grace Bonney. She is brilliant and oh so fabulous. Grace just came out with this beautiful book which is, from what I understand, a consolidation of her blog thus far!

Source

I can't wait to purchase and blog about it! She is my inspiration. Watch the book trailer and you will understand why..

Design Sponge at Home (Official Book Trailer) from The Panic Room Videos on Vimeo.

Grace will be in Dallas on October 13th and I am so sad to say that I will not be able to go as I am planning an event for my schools Journalism and Mass Communications department that will take place on that day. But I encourage all blog lovers to attend if you can! Meeting her would be life changing.

Thanks for reading!
Bye bye

Fall For Me

This weeks weather was so wonderful! Not a day above 100 and the mornings and evenings were in the mid to upper 70s. So naturally it got me even more excited about fall and everything that comes with it.

So, here are some things that I cannot wait to indulge in this fall.

1. Fall fashion by forever21

Chiffon is really making a statement this season and I love it.

These flowy boyfriend style chiffon button ups are everywhere and I will definitely be purchasing this one for only $13.50 from forever21. Isn't the color stunning?

I also came across this chiffon maxi skirt from forever21. So chic.

Blazers. Blazers! Blazers!!
There are so many different options out there with blazers. Everyone is carrying them in so many styles, colors and patterns! Wear it with a dress, some shorts and a blouse or skinny jeans and a white v-neck for a more casual look. Check out this soft peach blazer from forever21.

BONUS:
Boyfriend style watches are huge, and have been for awhile now. From what I've seen, Michael Kors is one of the key designers of this trend. I really love this Runway Time Teller Watch from Michael Kors. The rose gold is flawless.

2. Pumpkin treats

My boyfriend almost lost it when I came across these pumpkin cream cheese truffles from lilllyella. We love cooking together and we will definitely be making these this fall. YUM.

DIY Dessert Stand

These past two weeks have been so wonderful and SO busy! I am so glad to be back at school for my last full semester as a college student. (AH!)

The week before classes started I got in a really crafty mood. I redid my room and did lots of thrift shopping! Some of my thrift store finds inspired me to create a cute and simple dessert stand that I saw on pinterest. (uh duh)

Materials:
Plate
Glassware with a stem (Lots of options!)
-- The plate and cup that I used cost me around $3 at a local antique store and I probably could have found even cheaper options at goodwill.
Silicone Sealant (This may sound scary but it so easy to find and so easy to use! I got mine at Wal-mart.)
Frost glass spray
Spray paint (Any color!)

I started by centering the glass on the plate and making marks with a sharpie.

Then I secured the glass to the plate with the silicone.

Read the instructions on your silicone to know how long to let it sit. I let mine sit over night.

Once the silicone is dry, apply the frost glass spray. This helps the spray paint stick.

Let dry then apply spray paint. Several coats may be needed.

Creative, cute, simple, EASY. Love it. I am having a few problems with the spray paint chipping, but I think it has something to do with type I bought. I would also like to make some in fun colors :)

Lots of inspiration for the blog, being back at school and all, so hopefully I'll be posting more frequently!

That's all for now..
Bye, friends!
